Judging Day
July 29th was the day for the 2022 Baxterley in Bloom effort to be judged. Roger Bache and Robin Russell, from Heart of England in Bloom, arrived at The Rose Inn at 10.00am to be met by Ann and Jim Pearson who would escort them around the Village. John Stevens drove them to the Corner of Windmill Lane where the tour was to begin.
The beds near Windmill Lane were viewed then we moved on to the JLR Bank where Pam Deamon explained what had been done there. The tour moved on to the containers outside Carters. Then to Compost Corner where Heide Goody gave an account on what happened here including reference to the arrangements for deaaling with waste from the Jubilee Party.
Next was the Bowls Club where John Freeman talked about the efforts of members to produce the beautiful gardens surrounding the green.
Outside the Bowls Club the Queen's Jubilee bed was viewed.
Moving on to the park Heide Goody outlined plans for a sensory garden and Pam Deaman explained plans for a wildflower meadow. The work done on the pond was also discussed.
The Orchard was the final point of the tour to view the beds there. John Stevens collected the judges and returned to The Rose. The new painting on the Institute was viewed.
