Presentation of Awards

The presentation of awards for Heart of England in Bloom was held at the Dunchurch Lodge Hotel, near Rugby, on 5th September.

Baxterley in Bloom was represented by Chris and John Stevens and Ann and Jim Pearson.

As the scheme for marking had been changed this year there was concern about whether a Gold Award would be maintained. It was a big relief to hear the word Gold when Baxterley was called forward to receive the certificate from chairman Roger Bache.

An Excellent lunch followed.

Saturday 7th September was the day of the thankyou party for volunteers in the Village and others who had helped through the year. This was held at The Rose Inn and they did us proud again. It, of course, turned into a celebration party and everyone was keen to continue next year.
