Presentation - Gold
Baxterley in Bloom is celebrating again.
Mike Faulkner and Jim Pearson attended the presentation of Heart of England in Bloom Awards at the Police training Centre, Tally Ho Confernce Centre in Birmingham.
The event should have taken place on 15th September in Sutton Coldfield but was postponed due to the death of the Queen.
The Bloom Awards were combined with the It's Your Neighbourhood Awards a week later.
When Baxterley was called to receive its award we were unsure of what to expect but the announcement of Gold delighted us. The other entry in the Village category, Pebworth, followed us and also got Gold.
The tension (in the Baxterley camp) was rising. Could we be Best in Category? Unfortunately Pebworth got the honour. Congratulations to them. At least we can say we were second.
After a very acceptable buffet lunch we returned home.
On Saturday 24th September the volunteers met in The Rose Inn for a celebration which was enjoyed by all.
