Windmill

The windmill that stood on Windmill Lane was built in 1793 by "J. B.". It was last used in the 1880s. It finally succombed to the elements in 1946 when it blew down in a storm.

It was decided that "replica" be produced for the Village. In discussions the size ranged fron a couple of feet to life size. The discussion stopped when John Stevens said he had built it.

It was originally planned to site it on the corner of Windmill Lane and Main Rd but excavations for a new sewer prevented this and it was placed on the "Green/Common"
