Judging

Friday 26th July was the appointed day. The judges from Heart of England in Bloom, Robin Russell and Roger Bache, duly arrived at 10.30am to make their tour of the Village. They were escorted round by Ann and Jim Pearson.

The start was in The Orchard, where new beds had been dug and planted. Then along Main Rd viewing the bus shelter and Zena and Nette's bench and sign bed. The new bed at the end of the park was next then the new ramp access into the park. They progressed through the park to see the new hedgehog boxes, one dedicated to Robin who is particularly keen on homes for wildlife.

They saw the beds on the Green outside The Rose Inn and proceeded to the bowls club where John Freemen showed them the results of his team of helpers. Compost Corner came next. It had been an empty shell when they saw it last year but now was up and running.

The display outside MJ Carters was next followed by the beds near Windmill Lane, particularly the replica windmill.

Back at The Rose Inn was a gathering of villagers and invited guests. Jim Pearson gave a summary of the work that had been done during the year. Tea and cake followed.
