Floral Competition
The competition had 3 categories. They were Hanging Basket, Container, Children's Floral Display.
The judging was done on Tuesday 12th July by Rev John White, vicar, David Kirkland, head gardener of Merevale Estate, and Gail Brown of Hurley and District Gardening Club. The judges were impressed by the entries but noted that there were many more displays around the Village that could have been entered.
The presentation was held at the Horse and Jockey where Lesley Clarke, long resident in Baxterley, presented the certificates and prizes.
The awards were
Hanging Basket - 1st Jacky Smith - 2nd Bowls Club - 3rd Yvette Easthope
Container - 1st Kay New - 2nd Pam Deamon - 3rd John Stevens
Children's Display - 1st Niamh Smith - 2nd Lexi Mullen - 3rd Merlin Beal
