Presentation 2018

This was held at The National Brewery Centre in Burton-on-Trent, 20th SEptember.

Ann and Jim Pearson and Claire Bowen attended. After a welcome by the Mayor of East Staffordshire and a few words and poems from Les Goodman, president of Heart of England in Bloom, and Roger Bache, Chairman, the presentations got under way.

Firstly there were special awards in various categories for individuals and groups.

There was some confusion when it came to the awards for villages as all the names were called out and no-one quite knew what to do. Eventually it was sorted out and Baxterley's turn came. When Roger Bache gave us the certificate and we saw GOLD written on it we were ecstatic and did not hear the announcement. After having our photo taken with Les Goodman we calmed down a little but spent the rest of the event grinning at each other and saying "We won GOLD!"

Later in the evening a delighted group of volunteers gathered in The Rose Inn for a liquid celebration.
